Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know it’s time to try therapy?

We believe that every individual could benefit from an unbiased space to process their past and current struggles, practice healthy coping skills, and seek growth and healing. If you’ve ever thought it might be something for you, we encourage you to give it a try!

Some especially good times to try therapy may be before or during a life transition, in the midst of seasons of grief or loneliness, or when you feel that your thoughts and stressors are inhibiting you in your daily life and/or relationships.

Do you incorporate prayer or faith in counseling?

We do not impose any particular beliefs or practices on our clients. Each individual will have the opportunity during the first session to express whether or not they would like to incorporate their faith in the counseling process (prayer, Biblical application, etc).

How much does therapy cost?

Our fees are reasonable and competitive, but may vary by counselor based upon services offered, licensure level, and experience.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards.
We also accept HSA cards.

Do you take Insurance?

We are out of network with all insurance carriers.

You might notice a growing trend among therapists who opt out of accepting insurance. We understand that may impact your ability to pursue therapy at The Well, so we wanted to share our mindset behind the decision:

  1. Confidentiality: When insurance companies pay for treatment, they have access to your detailed information. We believe your therapy should progress at your pace, maintaining full confidentiality throughout.

  2. Diagnoses: Insurance mandates a diagnosis for coverage, but not everyone in therapy requires one. Moreover, you may not want your diagnosis attached to your medical records indefinitely. Some diagnoses actually aren't even reimbursed, potentially leaving your therapy needs uncovered.

  3. Limited Treatment Options: Insurance often imposes session limits based on generalized criteria, disregarding your unique needs. This rigid approach can add unnecessary stress to your therapeutic journey. Additionally, the recent discontinuation of Telehealth coverage by many insurance companies may limit your access to diverse therapy options, whether virtual or in-person.

Many insurance companies have out-of-network benefits for therapy. We encourage you to check with your insurance provider to verify their stipulations on reimbursement. Below is a link to a service that can help you use your out-of-network benefits for therapy:
